Sometimes we grieve things that, if we’re honest, were never truly good for us in the first place. We grieve potential. We grieve timing. We grieve the version of the story we imagined. But God is not committed to our imagined outcomes, He is committed to our wholeness.
If something didn’t work out, it’s not because God is withholding love, joy, or fulfillment from you. It’s because He is refusing to let you settle for a version of it that would cost you your peace and purpose in life. Nothing and no one is more important than that.
God doesn’t remove things to leave you empty.
He removes things to make room.
Room for healing.
Room for growth.
Room for the kind of love that doesn’t confuse you,
break you, or pull you away from who He created you to be.
You may feel like you’re waiting, but in the hands of God, waiting is never wasted. While you’re asking, “Why not yet?” God is working behind the scenes, aligning details, strengthening your character, and preparing blessings that won’t have to be forced, chased, or questioned.
The truth is, if God were withholding something from you, it would contradict His nature. He is a good Father. And a good Father doesn’t keep good things from His children. He ensures they receive them at the right time, in the right way, and in the right condition to sustain them.
So instead of asking, “Why is this being kept from me?” try asking, “What is God protecting me from?” and “Who is God preparing me to become?”
Because sometimes the delay is not about what you’re waiting for, it’s about who you’re becoming while you wait.
You are not forgotten.
You are not overlooked.
You are not being denied.
You are being guided.
Trust that what God has for you will not require you to beg for it, break for it, or lose yourself for it. It will come with peace. It will come with clarity. And it will come in a way that confirms it was worth the wait.
Until then, rest in this truth:
God is not withholding anything from you. He is making sure that what reaches you is worthy of you, and that you are ready to receive it.
A Prayer
Father, when it feels like things are not working out, help me to trust that You are still working. Quiet the thoughts that tell me I am being overlooked or denied. Remind me that Your timing is intentional and Your plans for me are good. Give me peace in the waiting, strength in the process, and faith to believe that what You have for me will come at the right time. Help me not to chase what You have not chosen, and not to grieve what You have removed. I trust You—even here. Amen.
